The Tragedy Of The Half Moon Throne

So this is for a show coming up at Floating World again here in Portland! It’s yakuza-eiga themed and is entitled Battles Without Honor and Humanity which will be held on September 15th! I’ll post more about it when the press release is up.

I’m pretty wiped but basically this piece was inspired by cool yakuza-eiga ladies such as Meiko Kaji, the Stray Cat Rock girls, Chiaki Kuriyama, Juri Manase (Sonny Chiba’s killer baby swordswoman), Sumiko Fuji (Red Peony Gambler yessss) and more. There is a tiny bit of a narrative behind this but I’ll leave it to your imagination. If you must know, just drop me a message.
